Community & Charity Involvement

As a small business owner, waking up every morning and loving what I do is a dream come true. And serving the community is a big reason why I feel that it is worth giving back not only to the community but also to non-profit organizations that are making impacts in the lives of others. Being part of the community gives me and my business that human quality that’s so important. At ADLOC Health Home Care, community involvement contributes to our business goals, including the reputation of our brand, and the attraction and retention of our employees. Giving back to our community has not only boosted morale among our employees but also enhanced our relationship with our clients.

HEALS, Incorporated was founded by Dr. Willnella Patray Peters as a means to promote healthy eyes and provide care to underserved populations. Dr. Peters, a native of Liberia, West Africa, is aware of the critical need for preventative care in her country.  She is also conscious of the need to narrow the gap with respect to health disparity here in the U.S. amongst minority and economically disadvantaged populations. She is committed to helping eyes against the loss of sight in a collaborative effort nationally and internationally through policy and providing access to eye care services.  HEALS has completed several mission trips to Liberia and Haiti, conducted community outreach with health fairs in Georgia and contributed to a mission trip to Nigeria. We continue to strive for a world without avoidable blindness.

A DIFFERENT CUT

A Different Cut is a thoughtfully curated environment to provide a positive hair cutting experience for individuals with specific sensory needs.

Our goal is to provide a safe environment tailored to individuals on the autistic spectrum. Because of the feedback we were receiving from parents with their experience in a salon/barbershop, we decided it was time to show special care to those in need. We believe that everyone should walk into the salon feeling welcomed and comfortable, and walk out feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated; especially those with specific sensory needs.

SASSY is a 501 (c) nonprofit organization located in DeKalb County Georgia that is supported by parents, caregivers, members, and the community. We exist to enhance the lives of youth and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities - "Super Special People". At SASSY we are dedicated to helping Super Special youth and adults to be recognized for their unique strengths and contributions without regard to their individual challenges.

The South DeKalb Association for Super Special Youth & Adults, Inc. (SASSY)  was formed in 1996 by seven families in an endeavor to fill a void in services specific to South DeKalb County's special needs community. These families sought to provide programs and resources for the youth and their caregivers.
